On Monday, City Council will be discussing how to handle tax breaks and water bills during the COVID-19 pandemic.

City Manager Jim Puffalt says the city is being cautious about shutting off water right now.

"We made a decision quite early that we were going to be very careful about cutting off any water, and certainly to talk to people and find ways to work with residents."

He added that Regina and Saskatoon have already set a precedent in terms of giving tax breaks.

"Quite honestly we're focusing on making sure essential services can be provided, we're not going to be issuing property tax notices for quite some time yet."

We'll have more from city council on Monday night.
