The City of Moose Jaw will not be standing side by side with the union in the Canada Post delivery fight but rather they will continue to press our own issues with the national mail carrier.

Council has receive a letter from the union, asking council to pass a motion to stand with them in a national review. But Councillor Patrick Boyle disagreed with that stance.

"What I have a problem with is the canned motion that is submitted by the union that they are trying to pressure the municipality into passing in support of their position. I think we should come up with out own rather than do that."

"I believe the federal government is doing consultations,'' added Boyle. "I think we should be presenting our own position to the government directly."

The majority of council agreed with Boyle and so administration will continue to work to put pressure on Canada Post to come back to the table with full door to door service, providing statistics on why its needed.
