The City of Moose Jaw has received approval for about $4.8 million in funding for three projects under the provincial Municipal Economic Enhancement Program (MEEP).

The city received approval for $880,000 for the wastewater treatment plant blower project and $54,000 for COVID-19 protection measures. The city will also receive $3.9 million for the pumphouse and high service reservoir project.

The high service reservoir project would see the construction of a new pumphouse through the federal Investing in Canada Program. As part of that program, the city must supply 26.67 per cent of the funding, or $3.9 million.

The wastewater treatment plant blower project is slated to replace four centrifugal blowers that were installed in the 1980s with newer technology. Finally, the COVID-19 protective measure would help bring in the protective measure necessary to reopen city facilities.

  • RM of Gravelbourg No. 104, $53,000 for bridge replacement.
  • RM of Moose Jaw No. 161, $130,000 for public works shop expansion and $37,000 for chip seal pavement.
