The 2019 holiday season is wrapped up. Families have went their separate ways, leftover food is being finished off, and Christmas trees are being taken down.

Residents who decided to set up real trees last year will be happy to know that the City of Moose Jaw has brought back their Christmas tree recycling program.

Communications Manager with the city - Craig Hemingway - tells us you have two options when it comes to getting rid of your tree.

"It's really simple. There are a couple of different ways to do it; if you want to get rid of your Christmas tree before our pickup begins we're going to make the lot just west of Yara Centre available, just like we did last year, to drop off your Christmas tree. Please make sure it's free of any decorations or tinsel."

"City crews will also begin Christmas tree collection on January 20 in zone 1. That pickup will then continue to coincide with the regular collection calendar."

In previous years, Christmas trees that have been collected have been used as mulch in Wakamow Valley.
