Earlier this year City Council gave the approval to create the Moose Jaw Municipal Airport Authority.

The next step was to create a board of people who would govern and run the local airport. A month ago the City opened up the nomination process and residents were allowed to throw their hats in the ring to be a member of the board. On Monday night those candidates were decided.

Greg Simpson was elected as Chair of the committee by City Council, while several tied votes led to a stalemate over the Vice Chair. Since the votes were tied, Mayor Fraser Tolmie was selected as Interim Vice-Chair for the foreseeable future.

The other elected board members are Jarrett Johnson, Carolyn Turner, Gerald Julian, Destiny Gibney, and Robert Dougall.
