Since the opening of Moose Jaw's new Wigmore regional hospital, there have been a series of vehicles parked alongside Diefenbaker Drive across from the facility.

The city of Moose Jaw is putting an end to that.  In a release sent out Tuesday morning, the city says that parking along Diefenbaker Drive is not permitted as the route is used by emergency vehicles and heavy trucks.

The city says no parking signage will be installed soon on the roadway, and that the city will enforce the parking ban once signage is in place.

Also, the city says that the new traffic signals at the intersection of Main Street and Diefenbaker drive will be activated within a few days.

The Five Hills Health Region announced in March that it would cost you to park at the new facility, with rates of $1 per half hour, $8 per day, $40 per week, and $75 per month.
