During these tough times, what makes you smile? That’s what the City of Moose Jaw wants to know.

The city is holding a contest through their smartphone app asking people to submit pictures of what's making them happy during the COVID-19 pandemic along with an explanation to go with the picture.

"Whether it’s creative ways to stay active at home with your family, a nice gesture from a friend or coworker or even a special way to stay connected with loved ones you can’t visit, use the City of Moose Jaw app to send a photo of the person, place or thing in Moose Jaw putting a smile on your face and helping you Cope With COVID-19."

City of Moose Jaw communications manager Craig Hemingway.

"It's a difficult time for many of course so we thought we would like to share some of the more heartwarming things that we know are happening because we've seen so many examples already in our community through social media and other instances of people doing fun and creative things to stay connected and to stay active."

Hemingway says signing up for the contest is incredibly easy.

"Right on the home screen you'll see the button that says contest, you can click that and take a picture right there or grab a picture that's already in your device. Give us a little write up of what the picture is all about and why it made you smile during the pandemic. We're going to share those pictures on social media and on our website."

Everyone who enters before May 7 has a chance to win a family recreation pass for any of the city’s facilities once they reopen.
