Quilts of Valour is a charity organization that donates handmade quilts to currently serving members of the military and veterans who have been ill or injured as a result of their military career.

15 Wing has donated 7 quilts in the last two years with the help of many people on the base including spouses, the Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC), pilots courses, the Protestant Church group Thimble Thursday, and many others.

Lieutenant Camille Dolphin detailed the importance of the students getting involved, "This project is sort of a little reminder that you work for a bigger organization. It's not just flying, your working for the military and giving back is at the heart of this military service."

Even though quilting is a long, laborious process, the quilts were finished in just a few hours. Cheryl Dvernichuk from Quilts of Valour said this was very impressive since some of the pilots had never sewn before.

The idea to contribute to Quilts of Valour was proposed by Wing Chaplain Captian Eric Davis in 2016 after he participated in presenting a quilt to a member of the military.

"Every single pilot course are required to do a community project during their course at 15 wing Moose Jaw" Dolphin continued, "This is giving back to our own members because the quilts will be donated to veterans or currently serving members of the military who have become ill or injured as a result of their military service."

As of 2018, over 12,000 quilts have been donated by Quilts of Valour, and they have a goal of reaching 20,000 by 2020. 15 Wing intends to stay committed and keep supporting Quilts of Valour in order to help them reach their final goal.
