The village of 800 located just west of Moose Jaw came together to celebrate and help support their own over the weekend.

Jim Bell was one of the event's organizers. He discussed the purpose of the event.

"We have a Rec Board that has events we put on, we have soccer in May and June and there is a skating club in town as well, the idea is just for anyone who maybe has a large family who would like their kids to attend some of the Rec Board events that finances won't be a problem because hopefully, we can offset some of that cost."

Bell also outlined what they have done with the funds raised in the past.

"Other times in the past we have done it for a fundraiser to raise money for a walking trail and so this year we thought let's just do it for possibly people who could use the money. So this is our first year doing that."

The event also takes inspiration from an event done in Moose Jaw every year.

"Just watching the Moosejawg and how well the Moosejawg is set up and you know we don't pretend to be anything as official as that but just to see our community get together and just hang out and support an event," explained Bell.

After the run, the village also had a parade, bouncy castles, games and a BBQ for the community.
