Canada Day is quickly approaching, and Moose Jaw's Canada Day Committee is preparing fur a full day of patriotic fun in the city.

There will be everything from the traditional pancake breakfast to music and family activities during the day in Crescent park, then fireworks capping the celebrations on the evening of July 1.

Aaron Ruston, committee spokespersonr, said that they have high hopes for the celebration of Canada's 150th birthday.

"Being the 150th, we live in an amazing country, and we live in an amazing community, and I really wanted this year to be something where we can involve everyone. We are hoping to get far greater numbers than we've ever had in (Crescent) park before, but in order to do that you have to bring in entertainment, you have to bring in things that people want to see."

Some of those things include a Kid's Zone, flight simulators from the military, and First Nations dancing, along with some other surprises.

But along with all of those activities comes the need for more help.

"It's going to be a day that's bigger than what we've normally had, so yeah, we would love to have some volunteers come out, and it's going to be an incredible day."

If you would like to volunteer you contact Ruston by email at aruston@purposedfinancial.org or get more information on their Facebook page Moose Jaw Canada Day and they will be able to find a place for you to help out.
