While industries across the world saw a downturn in numbers over the last 6 months, tourism was one of the industries hit hardest.

Wakamow Valley in Moose Jaw was not immune either, seeing a 35% drop in campers.

Todd Johnson, General Manager of Wakamow Valley.

"Camping actually was down quite a bit. In May we weren't able to open, and for safety reasons. When we could open, it was only 50% of our campground. Later on in the summer, it was 100%, but it was only for Saskatchewan residents. We're down about 1,600 visits from campers."

"It really did put a big dent in our camping season here. Last year we were right around 4600, and this year we're just barely over 3000. So, it was a big drop in the camping area."

Johnson says they are planning a few things in the park for the winter months, hoping to make Wakamow Valley a hot spot for winter outdoor enthusiasts. He goes on to say that they've got some special plans for the skating oval, and park, that has yet to be released.
