With school starting up again and the Labour Day weekend just starting, many are heading out to Buffalo Pound to enjoy it one last time this season, but it doesn't necessarily have to be that way.

While some of the recreation programs have slowed down, the park remains open.

Park Manager, Dave Bjarnason, said why some programs have stopped. "We have a lot of activities that are ongoing. Our mini golf will be open thorough the long weekend," said Bjarnason. "Our programming, because most of our staff is university students, is not gonna be running through the long weekend."

People can still make reservations though, as Bjarnason reminds everyone that the office is still staffed for visitors and that the fire ban is still on.

Surprisingly enough, even with people returning to school and coming off from holidays, with each year it seems visitation has gone up for the park this month.
