SGI and Law Enforcement will be focusing the Traffic Safety Spotlight on Occupant Safety for the month of March.

"So police across Saskatchewan will be on the lookout for people not wearing their seatbelts, wearing one improperly, or not having their kids properly restrained in the vehicle," said Jennifer Sulley, Communications Consultant with SGI.

Sulley explained proper seatbelt use.

"Use both the lap belt and the shoulder belt," she directed. "The lap belt should be sitting just across your hips. The shoulder belt should be going across the middle of your chest and just across the middle of your shoulders."

She said when it comes to your children, it's worth taking some extra time to get it right.

"If people have questions about car seats, they can actually attend an SGI Carseat Clinic, we have them throughout the year and space, times are available on our web site," she noted. "And if they can't attend one of the clinics, they can also book an appointment with a Car Seat Technician."

"We really want people to buckle up. It can really make a difference if you ever get in a collision," she added.
