A wedding is an exciting time for a bride, but Moose Jaw's Kaylee Ruston didn't want to keep all that joy to herself.

Instead of asking for gifts at her bridal shower she asked for toys instead, with a plan to put smiles on some faces who may really need it.

Ruston invited friends and family to particiapte knowing full well that she was collecting brand new goodies for families she has never even met who are staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

"We filled 4 huge bags... full of toys. I would say probably $500-$600 worth of toys," explained Ruston. "It's going to go to some amazing kids going through a lot, it's truly going to bless so many people, I'm excited."

She came up with the idea to donate toys after relazing she had nothing to ask for as a gift for her bridal shower and wanted to make people feel as treasured as she does.

Ruston chose the Ronald McDonald House becasue of the support people recieve through their services and said families she cares about have had to utilize the house.

"It's a (sort of) local organization that touches so many lives, they are fully funded by themselves and through donations. I thought why not be apart of that and give back to them, they help people in need and give light to dark situations."

Once Ruston entered the doors of the organization they were elated at the amount of toys she brought in with her.

"They were blown away by the generosity, but also just the thought of people out there wanting to make a difference. They were pumped, I saw during the tour their toy room where when kids come there (and) the first thing they get is a toy." She treasured the fact that her donations will be part of their lives, "all of our toys will be in that room for thier first glimpse of hapiness on their crazy journey ahead."

Ruston has now challenged those closest to her to do the same kind of intiative and give back, she also plans to start volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House.
