RCMP have now laid criminal charges in relation to the Humboldt Broncos Bus Crash.

A press conference was held at 1 pm Friday, where Saskatchewan RCMP Commanding Officer, Assistant Commissioner Curtis Zablocki and Officer in Charge of the Major Crime Unit, Superintendent Derek Williams announced the charges after the three months thorough investigation that involved 20 investigators and a supplemented 100 total investigators involved in forensics, forensic collision reconstruction team, and major crime unit.

The 29-year-old semi driver involved in the crash, Jaskirat Sidhu, was arrested in his Calgary home without incident this Friday morning. Sidhu was charged with 16 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death an 13 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm. Charges that carry a sentence of up to 14 years per charge, and 10 years per charge respectively.

He has since been remanded into RCMP custody and will make his first court appearance next week where he will face these "serious criminal code charges."
