Under a cloud of controversy and unpopular budget decisions, Premier Brad Wall walked into the Saskatchewan Legislature for his final sitting Thursday morning in Regina.

It wasn't that long ago that Wall was celebrated as being one of the most popular politicians in the country but tough financial times has put a dent in that reputation.

During Walls last Legislature on Thursday, Deputy Premier Don Morgan thanked Brad for everything he had done during his time in politics;

"I would like to move the motion that the Legislative Assembly pay thanks and pay tribute to Brad Wall for his 18 years of service to the people of Saskatchewan, as the member for Swift Current, as leader of the opposition, as Premier, and for his many contributions to the people and province of Saskatchewan".

After hearing kind words from members of the Assembly, Wall expressed his thanks;

"What I might give up, and what I know that I gained...I have not, and still do not deserve any of it. Thank you."

Wall revealed he would be retiring from politics back in the summer after first being elected as an MLA back in 1999. He would become premier in 2007 and would enjoy political dominance over the opposition NDP.
