Bi-weekly waste collection is set to resume at the end of this week.

Starting October 1, waste collection in each zone within the city will take place every two weeks instead of weekly, and will stay bi-weekly until May 31, 2022.

In addition to that, the City of Moose Jaw also announced Saturday and Sunday, October 23 and 24, will be 'Free Yard Waste Weekend'.

During that time, the city will waive its $10 residential tipping fee at the landfill for residents disposing of organic yard waste; such as leaves, grass clippings, or pruned branches less than one inch in diameter.

Residents will be allowed to transport their organic yard waste in trailers behind their light vehicles; however, dual-axle and commercial trucks will not be eligible for the waived fee.

Those looking to dispose of non-organic household waste such as construction material, furniture, and appliances are also not eligible for the waived fee.

Anyone hoping to take advantage of Free Yard Waste Weekend will be directed toward the designated drop-off area and you are reminded that all loads must be tarped securely.
