A local man at the centre of a bear spray attack last month was in court Monday, where he was released under a number of conditions.

Colton Nickolas MacDonald spent 30 days under psychiatric evaluation after a bear spray attack last month, which ended with several injuries and an altercation with police.

MacDonald was released from court under 7 conditions:

- Must report to a bail supervision officer
- Must live in an approved residence
- Has a curfew of 11am - 7 pm 
- Must obstain from consumption of drugs and alcohol
- Must attend psychiatric counselling
- Not allowed to possess firearms or bear spray
- Must allow the search of his person or vehicle at any time for weapons by police

He will be back in court on March 12.
