COVID-19 vaccines are being deployed at a rate that the province believes could see the entire population with at least one dose in five weeks. But the active case count grew by more than 100 in this afternoon's update from the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

Health Minister Paul Merriman said yesterday that if the province continues vaccinating between 10,000 to 12,000 people a day, everyone could have at least a first dose in five weeks.

A new daily-high of 13,170 vaccinations was reported this afternoon. But 321 new cases were announced, compared to 198 new recoveries. There have now been 282,065 vaccination doses administered.

There was one death - a person in their 60s in the Central East zone.

The new cases are in the following zones:

Far North West (6), Far North East (2), North West (21), North Central (8), North East (6), Saskatoon (78), Central West (4), Central East (12), Regina (120), South West (3), South Central (17) and South East (36) zones.  Eight (8) new cases have pending residence information.  Three (3) cases with pending residence information have been assigned to Far North West (1) and North West (2) zones. 

Of the 33,347 cases Saskatchewan has seen, 2,504 are considered active.
