Local members of a street activist group in were in town, performing on Main Street last weekend.
Anonymous for the Voiceless, a group dedicated to animal liberation, performed what they call a Cube of Truth on Sunday.

Jordan, on behalf of the group, describes the performance:
"It consists of standing in a cube, called a cube of truth. It's like an art display. The reason we wear the masks is so we are anonymous. And it's been tested, that people are more likely to stand and watch the screens if they can't see the person's face. There's no facial expressions, they don't feel intimidated, coming up to watch the slaughterhouse footage. It consists of a 2 man cube, a 4 man cube, or an 8 man cube. You're either holding a truth sign or a device. So either a laptop, tablet or TV. Some of the chapters use 32' TVs, so people can see them. There are also outreachers. if it's an 8 man cube, you'd have 2 outreachers. They wait for people to engage, in watching the video. And then they'll go over, and explain what's happening."

Jordan explained what they show, and the goal of the Cubes as "slaughterhouse footage. All from Canada. We're using standard slaughterhouse practice. You go in any slaughterhouse, this is what you're going to see. People are not exposed to that. They don't know what goes on behind these closed doors. There's fences up, there are no windows in these places. We're very disconnected from where our meat comes from. We see it as a product, and not a sentient being. There's 1000s of studies that show that animals are sentient, that pigs are as smart as a young child or a dog. But yet we choose to eat them. The goal is to end the needless suffering of animals, which is unnecessary for the human diet. Like for Challenge 22 for instance. Where they can sign up and they'll have 24 a day support. They have questions, they have someone to talk to."

The group has numerous chapters. "800 chapters globally. 1000s of people. About 100 in Regina, and about 50 in Saskatoon," said Jordan. They performed these displays in both cities on the same weekend they were here in town.

They are also associated with Pig Save, a group who have been seen protesting out in front of Thunder Creek Pork on numerous occasions here in Moose Jaw.
