The Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation recently wrapped up their 89th annual convention a few weeks ago.

Members from across the province gathered in Prince Albert to discuss some key things about their organization, like all the wildlife and provincial groups that their 33,000 members help administer, chair, co-chair and manage. They also introduced one of their newest representatives to the federation, CFL star Brendan Labatte.

"Brendan is a born and raised kid from Saskatchewan; he's actually from the Weyburn area," said Executive Director, Darrel Crabbe. "He's and avid hunter, angler, and outdoorsman and just the perfect fit for our members. Brendan was very well received; he spent a few days with us at the convention and participated. We're doing a number of vignettes and doing a bunch of different things."

With Labatte now in their ranks, they plan to feature him in some upcoming news and have him as a representative for the Federation at upcoming events.

They also have some exciting events coming up that will be hosted by Moose Jaw. The Sask Wildlife Federation is a part of the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), and will be holding the Canadian National Tournament for the next three years. The Friendly City will also play host for the Federation's 90th convention coming up next year.
