There were six new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan to report on Saturday, June 27, bringing the Saskatchewan total to 777 cases. The new cases are located in the Far North Region.

Of the 777 reported COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, 103 are considered active. A total of 661 people have recovered.

Six individuals are hospitalized; five are receiving inpatient care, three in the North, one in Saskatoon and one in the South. One person is in intensive care in Saskatoon. Through the course of the pandemic so far, there have been 13 deaths in Saskatchewan.

Of the province’s 772 cases overall, 163 are travel-related, 472 are community contacts, 103 have no known exposures, and 39 are under investigation by public health.

Fifty-five are health care workers, but the source of the infections may not be related to health care in all instances. Of the currently active cases, 60 are in the far north, four are in the north, nine are in Saskatoon and 38 are in the south. There are no active cases in the central region or the Regina region.

To date, 64,161 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan. As of a couple of days ago, there were 47,637 tests per million people, which is below the national rate of 69,122 per million.

As of Saturday afternoon, there were over 103,000 positive cases in Canada with over 8,500 deaths and over 66,000 recoveries. In the United States, there have been over 2.53 million cases and over 127,000 deaths and 1.05 million recoveries.
