It was an interesting year for new member of Parliament Tom Lukiwski.

Perhaps most challenging for Lukiwski was the controversy around him allegedly calling the Moose Jaw Wakamow provincial NDP candidate "a whore" during his acceptance speech on election night.  Lukiwski denied the allegation in this DiscoverMooseJaw.com story.

"It's something that concerned me because I didn't do anything to insult any candidate. As a matter of fact I didn't know who the NDP candidate was when I made my remarks on election night, explained Lukiwski. "Since that time Ive tried to focus my efforts on other things.  I don't want that to be a distraction."  Lukiwski has indicated he is hoping the Conservatives and Liberals can work together in 2016 to improve Canada as a whole.

Lukiwski was disappointed with the overall results of the federal election, but took an optimistic tone looking forward.

"We will be certainly opposing the government when we think that some of there policies need to be opposed. But also I look forward to working with the government if they are receptive, so I hope that we can work effectively with the government. I don't want to see some of this continuous hyper partisan politics in Ottawa."

Lukiwski says politics are unpredictable and sometimes that's just the way it goes.

"People are consistent in their desire from time to time to change governments and I guess that's what happened here. It's very unusual for any government, whether it be Federal or Provincial to last longer than ten years.  Really the governing party can almost do nothing to stop it."
