After battling freezing rain to end the week,  the wind is going to be the problem this weekend.

Environment Canada's Bill McMurtry explains that the wind could cause problems on Saturday and Sunday, "Depending on the amount of snow that falls, there might be a little bit of drifting snow."

The forecast calls for flurries throughout the day and night on Saturday, but things are expected to clear up for New Year's Day.

The good news on the weather front is that we are expecting a return of sunshine and warm temperatures to kick off 2012, "Well above seasonal temperatures for the early portions of next week and that will continue for much of next week."
