The 90th annual Saskatchewan Wildlife Convention is taking place Thursday through Saturday at the Heritage Inn here in Moose Jaw.

Over 300 members are expected to attend the 3-day event that will feature a number of keynote speakers and presentations.

Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation Darrell Crabbe talks about what will take place over the course of the convention.

"An update for the delegates, we will probably have about 300 delegates and guests here. What's happened over the last year, what we're planning for 2019, and there will be a presentation from the Ministry of Environment on fisheries, wildlife, and enforcement. Probably one of the most popular events we have is when the enforcement people talk about the successful convictions they've had the past year."

As mentioned, the convention will feature a number of keynote speakers over the course of the event. Crabbe details who members can expect to see.

"The Minister [of environment] will be here on Friday morning speaking to our delegates. Friday evening we have our provincial fundraising event, Brendon LeBatte will be the emcee. Quite a few university students conducting research that we help support. Bob Sopuck, conservative member of parliament from Manitoba who used to be the chair of the outdoor caucus."

Although the event is for members only, Crabbe says hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts are able to join if they would like.

"Its for registered members only. We do invite people to join us, if someone wanted to come and sit in on a particular presentation we would certainly be more than willing to let them do that."
