Souls Harbour Rescue and Riverside Mission are preparing to move into a brand new building in Moose Jaw on the 200 block of River Street West.

The construction for the new Souls Harbour Rescue building is looking to begin between April and June of next year. The total cost for the construction is $4.5 million.

"We have about a million dollars in funding set aside now and then SHRM has a million dollars in cash right now. So, that leaves a balance of $2.5 million so we're raising funds against that $2.5 million," says Joe Miller, Executive Director of Souls Habour Rescue, the owners of Riverside Mission.

What he means by "raising funds" is a 50/50 ticket draw that the organization is putting on to raise money for the construction of the building.

It's a large project as Riverside Mission will be relocating to the new building. It'll be providing meal programs and offering more beds in the men's homeless shelter and it will have men's addiction services as well. The new building is also going to have an additional 12 housing suites for rent that will be all-inclusive. Not only that but the building will become one of the largest distribution centers of food and clothing in southern Saskatchewan. It'll provide for places such as Moose Jaw, Estevan, Assiniboia, Swift Current, and Weyburn.

The 50/50 tickets will be available for purchase on Friday, November 12th, "1 ticket for $20, 5 for $50, 20 for $100, and then 100 tickets for $250," says Miller. The tickets can be found on www.shrmsk5050.ca. The winning ticket will be drawn on December 3rd.
