The Moose Jaw Humane Society's annual 4 Paws Lottery drew the winner on Saturday, ending its biggest fundraiser of the year.

Bill Dicken took home the grand prize of $10,000 and is donating $1000 of his prize winnings back to help the shelter animals.

Donna Fritzke, Fund Raiser Coordinator, says the lottery was very close to selling out.

"We had 30 tickets left, which is amazing because this year we sold 300 more tickets than we did last year, so thank you to everyone who supported us," said Fritzke.

She says the shelter has lots of animals in need of homes currently.

"We have over 50 animals right now and a lot of them are kittens, they need a good home," says Fritzke.

All money raised from the lottery will go directly to the Humane Society to pay for vet expenses.

There were four winners for the $500 draw, Jen Cote, Doug Reuther, Jim Cole and Lana Chelsberg.
