38 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Tuesday in Saskatchewan, along with 33 recoveries.

Of the new cases; 17 are in the far north west, one is in the far north central, 4 are in the Far North East, one is in the North West, three is in the North Central, two is in the Central East, nine are in Regina and one is in the southeast. 

Six cases are considered active in the south-central zone, with five of those located in the sub-region 'south central 2' which is made up of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area.

356 cases are considered active, and 55 people are in hospital with 45 receiving inpatient care, and 10 are in intensive care.

Vaccines Reported

An additional 1,933 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,390,263.

The additional 1,933 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Far North West, 15; Far North Central, 1; Far North East, 10; North West, 199; North Central, 125; North East, 20; Saskatoon, 822; Central West, 23; Central East, 48; Regina, 478; South West, 16; South Central, 28; and South East, 36.  There were 112 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

Seventy-four per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 62 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.

It should also be noted that on Monday, the government of Saskatchewan announced that they would be discontinuing drive-thru vaccine appointments, and appointments booked online and over the phone. Instead, they will be focusing their efforts on public outreach and setting up walk-up vaccination clinics in public venues and at summer events.  

A Pfizer walk-in clinic is scheduled for Wednesday at the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
