October ended on a high note for one local group south of the city.

On Tuesday, Support Our Troops received a financial boost from 15 Wing Fellowship for their continued work with military families.

Aaron Ruston and Phil Adkins presented the $5,000 cheque on behalf of the fellowship group with various dignitaries, on behalf of the support team and military.

According to 15 Wing, Support Our Troops was created to provide diversified services to families and personnel, for former or current members of the military.

These funds were collected from a number of local fundraisers such as the Highway to Heroes Car Show and Concert, as well as the Musical Swing Concert.
