Two of the top teams in the Original 16 Cash League went toe-to-toe on Wednesday night during the eight-game slate at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre.

Joel Jordison and the Seaborn Insurance rink improved to a league-best 10-1 with an 8-3 win over Warren Marcotte and the Fountain Tire/Keon’s rink, who fell to 7-4 with the loss.

Marcotte opened with a deuce, but then Jordison scored in three straight ends to take on control with a 4-1 lead after four. Marcotte picked up one in the fifth, but a steal of three in the seventh was enough to seal the win for Jordison.

In other action on Wednesday:

Wade Gray and the Pro-Tec Video rink scored four in the third end and knocked off the David Gray rink, 7-2. Wade Gray is 4-6 after the win, while David Gray drops to 1-9.

A deuce in the second end was the difference for Danielle Sicinski’s BTN Chartered Accountants rink in a 5-3 win over Ben Gamble’s KMS rink. Sicinski is in second place at 8-2, while Gamble drops to 4-6.

Bob Desjarlais and the Kal Tire rink won a back-and-forth game against Ryan Wenarchuk and the John’s Music rink, scoring one in the eighth to win 5-4. Desjarlais improves to 4-7 with the win, while Wenarchuk drops to 7-4.

Ralph Courtnage’s Terra Grain Fuels rink rolled to a 7-0 win over Makenna Simmons and the Paws N Play rink. Courtnage moves to 5-6, while Simmons is still searching for her first win at 0-10.

Lorraine Arguin and the Easy Care Living rink put together a dominating effort with an 8-0 win over Stan Barnsley and the Pro-Tec Electric rink. Arguin scored three in the first, a single in the second and then two in the third and fourth ends each to finish off the match. Arguin is 7-4 thanks to the win, while Barnsley drops to 8-2

Murray Stroeder and the Tax Team rink were also rolling this week as they scored a 9-0 win over Matt Froehlich and the JGL Hawk’s rink. A three in the fourth end helped Stroeder improve to 6-5, while Froehlich falls to 4-5.

 A steal of one in the seventh was the difference for Patrick Ackerman and the Ackerman Ag Services rink in a 5-4 win over Barb Wallace. Ackerman is 3-5 after the win and Wallace drops to 2-9.
