The Moose Jaw Warriors' busy week continues as they prepare for their first three-in-three weekend of the season, starting on Friday night in Edmonton.

The Warriors have won six straight games heading into Rogers Place after opening their four-game Central Division road trip with a 3-1 win over the Kootenay Ice on Wednesday.

"They played well, but we got the win at the end of the night and that's all that matters, we got our two points and now we've got to look forward to our three-in-three," said Warriors rookie forward Brayden Tracey.

Last Friday, the Warriors skated to a 4-3 comeback overtime win against the Oil Kings at Mosaic Place. Moose Jaw scored twice in the third period to tie the game and then Tristin Langan won it in the extra period.

Tracey said there's a lot that they can take from that game, especially the need for a strong start.

"They're a good team and we know what we've got to bring to the table," he said. "We never give up, that’s the way that we're playing this year, we're a young team and we learn from every game."

Tracey is putting together a stellar freshman season in the Western Hockey League as he currently leads all rookies with 23 points (eight goals and 15 assists) in 22 games.

He credits the veterans that he's been able to play with the season for helping him make a seamless jump in the WHL. "It's a big jump, I feel comfortable out there and they've helped me with getting points, so it feels good," said Tracey.

This will be the first time that Tracey has played three games in three nights in the WHL. He said he's prepared to grind it out this weekend.

"If you have a good win, you can't look at it the next day; if you have a bad loss, you can't look at it the next day, you've just got to regroup and make sure that your legs are good and go out and play good," said Tracey.

The Warriors and Oil Kings face-off at 8 p.m. on Friday night. The Pre-Game Show is on the air at 7:40 p.m. on Country 100.

After Friday night’s game in Edmonton, the Warriors travel to Red Deer to face the Rebels on Saturday and then they finish their road trip with a Sunday afternoon game against the Calgary Hitmen.

Pats-Hurricanes Swing Blockbuster Deal

The Regina Pats and Lethbridge Hurricanes combined for a massive deal in the Western Hockey League on Thursday.

Regina sent captain Jake Leschyshyn and leading scorer Nick Henry to Lethbridge in exchange for 19-year-old forward Jadon Joseph, 18-year-old forward Ty Kolle, five draft picks including two first-round selections, and two conditional draft picks.

In 2019, the Pats will receive Lethbridge's first and third-round selections, as well as Swift Current's eighth-round pick. In 2020, Regina receives the Broncos' first-round selection and in 2022, the Hurricanes send their fourth-round pick to Regina.

Also, Regina will receive two more draft picks if Henry and Leschyshyn return for their respective overage seasons.
