Two teams swap key players in their lineups on Monday when the Moose Jaw Warriors added 18-year-old forward Ryan Peckford in a deal with the Victoria Royals.

In exchange Peckford and a 2018 fourth round pick, the Warriors sent 19-year-old forward Noah Gregor and a 2018 eight round pick to the Royals.

Gregor was originally drafted by Victoria before being acquired by Moose Jaw in the Travis Brown deal in 2014.  He played 164 regular season games for the Warriors, registering 71 goals and 176 points.

“Noah is an excellent young man and we thank him for his time with the Warriors and wish him the best,” commented General Manager Alan Millar in a media release.  “We are very excited to add Ryan Peckford to our hockey club. Ryan brings skill, size, and compete to our forward group.”

The six-foot-one Peckford comes to Moose Jaw with 13 goals and 27 points in 33 games this season with the Royals. He has 34 goals and 72 points in 140 career WHL games.

The Warriors also swung a deal earlier in the day to add 19-year-old forward Vince Loschiavo in exchange for prospect Jakin Smallwood and a condition third round pick in 2020.

Moose Jaw returns to the ice on Tuesday when they host the Kelowna Rockets at Mosaic Place.
