The long stretch of road games is finally over for the Moose Jaw Warriors, who have played 12 of their last 13 games away from Mosaic Place.

The Warriors posted a 9-3-1 over that stretch as they cemented themselves into a playoff position.

"If you told us that would be the record through that stretch, we'd be thrilled, so it's been a lot of hockey, a lot of road games lately and the schedule looks a lot better from here on in," said Warriors assistant coach Scott King.

"That was a real difficult chunk of the schedule and we managed it really well and we should be feeling good about our game. The confidence is there and we know that we can play with anybody."

The Warriors come out of the long stretch of road action sitting eight points back of the Saskatoon Blades for second place in the WHL's East Division. Moose Jaw does hold three games in hand.

Now that they're back home, the Warriors will spend the rest of the season only travelling within the East Division as they play 10 of their final 16 games on home ice at Mosaic Place.

"We need to get settled in and playing some good hockey at home, it's a good opportunity here with the remainder of the schedule to keep separating ourselves and obviously challenge Saskatoon for home ice is what we’re looking for," said King.

The Warriors are back on home ice for two games this week. They host the Edmonton Oil Kings on Thursday night and then they welcome in the Regina Pats for the Hall of Fame Game on Saturday night.

The Warriors and Legends Hall of Fame banquet will be held on Friday at Mosaic Place.
