The Moose Jaw Warriors will have one prospect on the ice with Team Canada at the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge next month in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, B.C.

2016 first round pick Brayden Tracey is one of 66 players that will represent Canada on Team Canada Black, Team Canada White and Team Canada Red for the annual tournament.

There’s 22 other players from the Western Hockey League joining Tracey at the tournament, including the top-three picks from the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft: Peyton Krebs of the Kootenay Ice, Kirby Dach from the Saskatoon Blades and Bowen Byram from the Vancouver Giants.

Following a strong preseason, Tracey was re-assigned by the Warriors to the Calgary Northstars in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League.  He has five goals and nine points in six games so far this season.

The World Under-17 Hockey Challenge pits the three Canadian national teams against the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden and the United States.  The tournament runs from Nov. 5-11.
