The Moose Jaw Warriors have an extra bounce in their step this week after winning a pair of games over the weekend. The Warriors have now won three straight and they sit with a 3-2-1-0 record through six games this season.

With a young team this season, the Warriors are looking to build off the positives each time they step on the ice and captain Josh Brook said there's a lot of positives right now.

"Every game we've gotten better and it helps a lot, you can see in practice, guys are more excited to go out and it's a better mood in the dressing room," said Brook.

"We're learning as we go," he added. "In wins, we learn what we did right and Tim does video and we learn and just keep on getting better."

Brook has put together a stellar start to the season with three goals and eight points in five games.

The 19-year-old Montreal Canadiens prospect has lived up to every expectation thrown on him this season when he was named captain by the Warriors.

Brook said he's pleased with how he’s carried his strong summer into the season, "I just try to go out and have fun and play the sport that I love," he said. "You've just got to show up every day and enjoy being around the guys, playing and practicing, and just enjoying everything."

The Warriors will meet the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday in the fourth meeting of the season already between the two East Division rivals. Moose Jaw won their last game, 3-2 in overtime, last Friday at Mosaic Place.

All three previous games have been tight and Brook is expecting no different this weekend.

"We've learned a lot from them, we need to get on them quick, give them less time and they can't do as much, so just get on them quick, play hard and play our game," said Brook.

"We need to have a good high forward, not give them time and limit the odd-man rushes."

The Warriors and Wheat Kings face-off in Brandon on Friday and then the team returns home on Saturday to host the Spokane Chiefs at Mosaic Place.
