Before Friday's game the Moose Jaw Warriors took some time to honour their top performers from the regular season as they handed out their team awards during YARA Awards Night.

20-year-old Jayden Halbgewachs claimed his second consecutive Player of the Year Award and was also the RBC Top Scorer. The San Jose Sharks prospect was also voted the YARA Fans Choice award winner

Halbgewachs had a magical final regular season with the Warriors. He had two goals and three points on Friday and another assist on Saturday to improve his season stats to 70 goals, 59 assists and 129 points. During the course of the season, he vaulted up the team's All-Time Scoring List, where he now ranks fourth, and he recently past former Captain Brayden Point to move in to second all-time in goals.

20-year-old Tanner Jeannot made three trips to the red carpet during the awards ceremony. The Oxbow product was named the Moose Jaw COOP Humanitarian of the Year, the Cody Smuk Un-Sung Hero and captured the Mark MacKay Hustle Award. Jeannot has had a career year posting highs in goals (40), assists (40) and points (80).  

19-year-old Los Angeles Kings prospect Kale Clague was named the Safeway/Sobeys Inc. Top Defenceman. Clague had 60 assists and 71 points this season and finished tied for third in the WHL in defenceman scoring. From Lloydminster, Alberta, Clague joined the Warriors in January after capturing a gold medal at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo, New York.

17-year-old goalie Adam Evanoff was named the McDonalds Rookie of the Year. In his first season in the WHL, Evanoff appeared in 20 games and posted a 15-4-1 record with a 2.65 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.

The Andy's Transmission and Automotive Most Improved Player was 19-year-old Tristin Langan. The third-year Warrior posted career highs this season in goals (16), assists (26) and points (42).

18-year-old Justin Almeida picked up the C & E Mechanical Most Sportsmanlike Award. Almeida joined the Warriors last season from Prince George and went on to have an amazing season with 43 goals, 55 assists and 98 points in 71 games while picking up just 10 penalty minutes.

The Vanier Collegiate Scholastic Achievement Awards went to rookie forward Tate Popple. In his first season in the WHL, Popple did an amazing job balancing a hectic hockey and school schedule.

The end of YARA Awards Night was highlighted with the presentation of the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy to the Warriors. Moose Jaw captured their fourth East Division title this year and finished the regular season with a record of 52-15-2-3.

Moose Jaw faces Prince Albert in the first round of the WHL Playoffs coming up on this Friday.
