The Moose Jaw Warriors closed out their three-in-three weekend on Sunday by scoring three goals in the third period and skating to a 5-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings at Mosaic Place.

It may have been their third game on the weekend, but that didn't stop the Warriors and Wheat Kings from establishing a quick pace to the game in the opening period. Moose Jaw did a great job creating neutral zone turnovers and then capitalizing on their rushes.

At 14:24, the Warriors forced Brandon into a turnover just outside their line, which allowed Justin Almeida to charge in on the attack, he came in through the middle and then cut to the left circle, then fed Vince Loschiavo on the right wing where he belted in his 18th goal of the year.

Just over two minutes later after another neutral zone turnover. the Warriors came in on the attack. Tristin Langan led the rush on the right wing and then pushed the puck towards the net where it went off of Loschiavo for his second of the game.

Brandon found their legs in the second period, as they found a more consistent attack in the frame and outshot the Warriors, 12-7.

The Wheat Kings got on to the scoreboard at 10:39, when Gunnar Wegleitner's wrist shot in the middle of the Moose Jaw zone found the back of the net.

Both teams had good jump to start the second period and at 5:56, the Wheat Kings tied the game at two on a shot from Rylan Bettens.

Only 16 seconds later the Warriors marched back up the ice, as Kale Clague tossed the puck to the Brandon end boards and Captain Brett Howden went hard to the wall looking to retrieve it, he won the battle and tossed the puck to the top of the crease where Jayden Halbgewachs tipped in his WHL-leading 68th goal.

Brandon tied the game at three at 13:09, when the Wheat Kings forced a turnover in the Moose Jaw zone and Caiden Dailey tossed a quick shot to the net that beat Brody Willms.

Moose Jaw responded quickly again as they picked up the go-ahead goal just shy of two minutes later. Halbgewachs came across the Brandon right line and connected with Ryan Peckford driving to the night where he lifted a backhand top shelf for his 20th of the season.

Down by one in the final two minutes of the game, the Wheat Kings pulled their goalie, but the Warriors put the game away with an empty net goal in the final minute from Tanner Jeannot.

Loschiavo finished with two goals, Halbgewachs had a goal and three points, Jeannot had a goal and two points, while Howden and Clague picked up two assists each.

Moose Jaw was 0-for-1 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

The Warriors come out of their three-in-three weekend with a record of 51-15-1-2 and sit five points up on Swift Current for first in the East Division.
