The Moose Jaw Warriors have played 12 of their first 17 games on home ice this season, however, four of their next six games are away from Mosaic Place.

The Warriors head out to the Central Division for a two-game road trip this weekend and the team is looking forward to getting out on the road for the first time.

"This is the first time in the [Western Hockey League] that I’ve been on a road trip, so it’s going to be a cool experience," said Warriors rookie defenceman Matt Sanders.

"Getting the chance to be around each other 24/7, at the hotel, team dinners, on the bus, it's good for bonding and with all the young guys that we have this year, it's going be really good for us to get on the road."

There are some positive vibes around the team as they prepare to head out on the road coming off a dominating 7-0 win over the Tri-City Americans on Tuesday night.

Sanders said that the Warriors aren't getting too ahead of themselves after the win, "We've been happy with it, but we know it's one game, so we're going to keep working every day," he said.

The Warriors played with a lot of speed all over the ice during Tuesday's win and they will need to keep that going against another fast team in the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday night.

"For defenceman, especially, we've got to have tight gaps, close them off early, play physical and keep the puck in their zone, so if we do that, our speed will take over because we're one of the fastest teams in the league and we proved it against Tri-City," said Sanders.

The Warriors battle the Hurricanes on Saturday night at 8 p.m. The Pre-Game Show will hit the air at 7:40 p.m. on Country 100.

Moose Jaw then travels to Cranbrook, B.C. on Sunday to square off with the Kootenay Ice at 5 p.m.
