Moose Jaw scored three power-play goals on Friday night as they opened their three-game weekend with a 4-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos at the Credit Union Iplex.

Brayden Tracey had two goals, Justin Almeida had a goal and three points, Tristin Langan added a goal and two points, and Josh Brook picked up two assists.

The Warriors will continue their weekend with a pair of home games on Saturday and Sunday.

Throughout the first period on Friday, the Warriors did a good job defensively keeping the Broncos to the outside, they were fast up the ice in transition, and they were hungry for pucks in the offensive zone, which led to plenty of attack time and a 14-2 advantage on the shot clock.

Even though the Warriors carried the pace of the first period, the Broncos were first on the scoreboard when Ethan Regnier scored on a Swift Current power-play five minutes into the game.

Moose Jaw was finally able to respond in the back-half of the period when they landed on the man advantage. Langan took a pass at the right goal line and looked to drive the net, he then decided to toss the puck to a wide-open Almeida inside the left circle and he put a shot top shelf over the blocker of goalie Riley Lamb for his 24th of the season, which tied the game at one.

The second period was similar to the first, the Warriors controlled the play with an aggressive fore-check and outshot the Broncos 10-6 in the period, and again it was the team's power-plays that affected the scoreboard.

On the man-advantage with just over six minutes in the frame, Langan had the puck at the right goal line and forced his way to the right side of the Swift Current crease, where he pushed in his team-leading 42nd goal.

The Broncos responded three minutes later when they scored a power-play goal of their own to even the game at two.

The third period was a little bit tighter, but both teams were still able to generate quality looks at the end.

With under seven minutes left in regulation and back on the power-play, Brook was behind the Bronco net on the fore-check and was able to move the puck inside the left circle for Almeida, who made a quick pace down to the bottom right circle where Tracey one-timed in his 28th goal of the season to give the Warriors the lead.

Swift Current tried to push back late in the final moments but the Warriors added an empty-net goal from Tracey to finish off the win.

The Warriors outshot the Broncos, 37-13, and they were 3-for-4 on the power-play and 1-for-3 on the penalty kill.
