The Moose Jaw Warriors added a much needed right handed shot and more scoring depth to their lineup on Monday.

The Warriors acquired 19-year-old forward Vince Loschiavo from the Kootenay Ice in exchange for 16-year-old forward Jakin Smallwood and conditional third round pick in 2020.

“Loschiavo is an experienced forward in the league who can score.  He also brings a right shot to our team which will compliment our forward group very well,” commented Warriors General Manager Alan Millar in a media release.

Loschiavo — six-foot-two, 195 pounds — has seven goals and 14 points in 28 game this season with Kootenay.  He led the team with 29 goals and 57 points in 68 games last season.

Loschiavo is the only right handed shot forward on the Warriors’ roster.

Moose Jaw leads the Western Hockey League with a 25-5-1-1 record through 32 games this season.  They will host the Kelowna Rockets on Tuesday night at Mosaic Place.
