It was a spectacular night for former Moose Jaw Warriors in the National Hockey League on Thursday night.

Five of the six Warriors alumni that hit the ice on the night were able to light the lamp, scoring five goals and six points.

The group was led by Morgan Rielly, who had a goal and two points for the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 5-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

Rielly is having an incredible start to his sixth season in the NHL as he has three goals and a league-leading 12 points in five games, which moved him past Bobby Orr for the most points by a defenceman over the first five games of a season in NHL history (modern era).

Brett Howden's second career NHL goal was a beauty as last year's Warriors captain went between the legs to beat San Jose goalie Aaron Dell in the New York Rangers' 3-2 overtime win against the Sharks.

Howden has two goals and three points in four games this season.

Brayden Point scored his first goal of the season, but his Tampa Bay Lightning gave up four goals in the third period to Vancouver in a 4-1 loss to the Canucks.

The trio of Warriors captain scoring was completed when Troy Brouwer picked up his first of the season for the Florida Panthers as they lost 5-4 to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Defenceman Joel Edmundson also got in on the fun as he scored his first of the season for the St. Louis Blues in their 5-3 win over the Calgary Flames, who were without an injured Travis Hamonic.

The only Warriors alum that didn't score on Thursday was defenceman Deryk Engelland, who finished minus-one in 18:37 of ice time during the Vegas Golden Knights' 4-2 loss to the Penguins in Pittsburgh.

There were nine former Warriors on opening night rosters in the NHL this season.
