The Vanier Vikings and Cornerstone Falcons will both have the opportunity to play for a provincial title next weekend. Both teams advanced after successful showings at the SHSAA Boys Volleyball Regional Championships this weekend.

The Vikings won the 4A Boys South Regional Championship, posting a 4-0 record at the tournament in Fort Qu'Appelle.

Vanier won in three sets over Lumsden to open the round robin on Saturday and then followed that up with a two-set win over Esterhazy to advance into the playoff round.

In the semi-final, the Vikings edged Fort Qu'Appelle in three sets and then ran into Lumsden again, winning in two sets this time to claim the regional title.

The Vikings will now travel to Melville for the 4A Boys Provincial Championship coming up this weekend.

The Falcons are heading to provincials after a third-place finish at the 3A Boys East Regional Championship in Outlook over the weekend.

Cornerstone split its two pool-play matches, beating the host LCBI in two sets and falling in two sets to Hepburn, who went on to win the gold medal.

The Falcons lost in three sets to Waldheim in the semi-final but bounced back with a three-set win over Shaunavon in the bronze-medal match to secure their spot at provincials.

Cornerstone will head to Carnduff for the 3A Boys Provincial Championship, starting on Friday.

The Moose Jaw High School Senior Volleyball League finals go on Tuesday night with the Peacock Toilers hosting the Vanier Spirits in the girls final at 5:30 p.m. and the Vikings playing host to the Central Cyclones in the boys final at 8 p.m.
