The Canadian National Junior Team’s offence didn’t get off to a great start, but their goaltending was on point on Wednesday night.

In the first exhibition game of Hockey Canada’s World Junior Selection Camp, Canada was blanked 3-0 by the U Sports All-Stars.

Goaltending hopefuls Colton Point of Colgate University and Carter Hart of the Everett Silvertips combined to make 32 saves in the shutout of their Canadian teammates.

Luke Philp from the University of Alberta scored on the power play in the first period and that goal would hold up the rest of the way. Acadia University’s Michael Clarke and Logan McVeigh of the University of Saskatchewan scored into empty nets in the final two minutes to seal the win.

Moose Jaw Warriors captain Brett Howden was held off the score sheet in the loss. Former Warriors captain Kendall McFaull, now with the Saskatchewan Huskies, wore the 'C' for the U Sports All-Stars in the game.

These two teams will meet again on Thursday night. Canada will then face Denmark on Friday to wrap-up the selection camp.
