Moose Jaw Warriors sophomore defenceman Jett Woo received some good news and some bad news on Monday.

The day started with the good news as Woo was ranked 20th overall among North American skaters in the NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings.

Two other Warriors were listed in the midterm rankings as well with Ryan Peckford coming in at 97th and Justin Almeida cracking the list at 125th.

Former Warriors’ Luka Burzan (#89) and Chase Hartje (#181) were also listed. There was 43 players in total from the Western Hockey League listed in the rankings.

The bad news for Woo came in the afternoon as it was announced that he would be missing Thursday’s CHL Top Prospects Game due to an injury. Defenceman Xavier Bernard from the Drummondville Voltigeurs will be replacing Woo in the game.

The 17-year-old Winnipeg product sat for much of Friday’s game against the Regina Pats and then missed the Warriors’ game on Sunday afternoon in Saskatoon.

Head coach Tim Hunter said after Friday’s game that Woo was ill.

The Warriors will return to the ice this Friday when they open a two-game Alberta road trip in Lethbridge. They’ll be in Medicine Hat on Saturday.
