The Moose Jaw Midget AA Warriors gave up five third-period goals and lost 9-6 to the Lumsden/Bethune Lions on Thursday night at the Bert Hunt Arena.

The loss puts Moose Jaw's record at 2-17-0 this season in the Saskatchewan AA Hockey League.

Noah Braun and Jordan Johnson had two goals and four points each in the loss for Moose Jaw.

The back-and-forth game saw the two sides trade goals over the first 40 minutes with the Lions taking a 4-3 lead into the third period.

Johnson's first of the game tied things up 3:07 into the third and then only a 1:42 later, Braun and Johnson scored just 1:30 apart to give Moose Jaw its first lead of the game at 6-4.

The Lions found a spark with 7:27 to play in regulation when Brady Robertson scored to cut the Warriors' lead down to two. Parker Mymryk followed that up 2:06 later to tie the game.

Hazzard Friskie put the Lions back in the lead only 34 seconds later with a penalty shot goal and Robertson followed that up with his hat-trick goal 1:19 after that. 

Dawsen Parker finished off the onslaught, sliding the puck into an empty net with just 45 seconds left in the third.

Hayden Russell picked up two assists in the loss, while Ben Peterson and Jonathan Poirier also scored for Moose Jaw.

The Warriors have a busy weekend ahead, they travel to Melville on Friday and Saturday and then face off with the Prairie Storm on Monday.

In other minor hockey action on Thursday night, the Atom A Warriors dropped a 6-3 game to the Tigers in Regina.
