The Moose Jaw Rotary Track Club had a fantastic showing at the Kinsmen Indoor Games in Saskatoon this past weekend.

The local club won 17 medals, including five gold, and had runners set a number of personal bests over the course of the meet.

"I would say it was our most successful meet, the kids were at their best that they were this season, which was pleasantly surprising because of the cold weather that we've had for the last month and a half, but the kids have been working hard and it showed," said Scott Mitchell, coach with the MJRTC.

Brady Therrien won gold in the Under-12 Boys 1,000m, finishing in 3:34.64. He picked up a bronze in the 600m (2:00.53) as well.

Max Simmons came away with a gold medal in the U14 Boys 800m with a time of 2:33.13. He also captured a bronze medal in the 1,200m (4:33.49).

Allison Grajczyk-Jelinski picked up a gold medal in the Senior Women 1,500m, posting a time of 5:00.45.

Mitchell said he was pleased with how some athletes pushed themselves to top their previous best times, "One of those was Kal McGillis, who had a really big weekend. He had kind of plateaued, he's been working really hard and wasn't getting his times down and then this weekend, he had a big weekend," he said.

This meet wraps up the indoor season for the club and they will now turn their focus to the outdoor season.
