The Southeast Steelers stood tall at the end after capturing the Moose Jaw Senior Ladies Fastball Tournament on the weekend.

The Steelers edged Smitty’s, 5-4, in the final on Sunday afternoon at Caribou Heights.

The Colts were the lone local team to make it into the playoff round as they dropped a 3-2 extra inning game to Smitty’s in the semifinal on Sunday morning.

Ali Gallagher had an RBI-single in the loss as the Colts scored both their runs in the sixth inning to take a 2-1 lead. Smitty’s struck back in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game and then walked off in the eighth to advance into the final.

The Steelers had beaten the Lloydminster Liners 14-0 in the other semifinal game on Sunday.

The Moose Jaw Senior Ladies Fastball League returns to the field on Tuesday night with the Heat hosting the Hustlers for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
