Another successful Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Dinner took over the Heritage Inn on Saturday night with 425 people packing into the conference centre for a night of entertainment and fundraising.

The 26th edition of the annual event had Hockey Hall of Fame Inductee Lanny McDonald, Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Joe Biagini and Saskatchewan Roughriders centre Dan Clark in attendance as the special guests, while Sportsnet’s Jamie Campbell served as the event’s M.C.

DiscoverMooseJaw’s Marc Smith had a chance to sit down with Biagini and Clark before the event on Saturday.

The focus of the night is to raise funds for the Kinsmen Club of Moose Jaw, which in turn stay in the community via donations to local sports organizations.

The night is also about honouring the local sports community. Team Penny Barker won the DiscoverMooseJaw Team of the Year after winning the Saskatchewan women’s curling title in 2017.

Cory Olafson, a Kinsmen Club member, was honoured for his years of work in the community with the Moose Jaw Miller Express and Kidsport as he was the recipient of the Sports Builder Award.
