Hundreds of football players from around the province will be in Moose Jaw this weekend.

The Saskatchewan Selects football program is hosting its annual Evaluation Camp, which will bring over 350 players to the Friendly City, on Saturday and Sunday at Yara Centre.

"We think that this year, especially with the group of coaches that we have coming, it's going to be our best year yet," said Selects program director Zeljko Stefanovic.

The program features former professional, college, and high school coaches and players working with kids from ages 8-18 from around the province over the course of the winter.

Everything leads to a trip to San Antonio, TX in February for the 2019 International Pigskin Classic.

While the tournament is the end goal, the focus throughout the winter is on becoming better players.

"We're quite a bit different from the other provincial programs, we focus a lot on skill development," said Stefanovic. "We ask our coaches to challenge our kids, take it to the next level, but primarily focus on individual skill development.

"If you want to be a better quarterback, if you want to be a better lineman, this is where you have to come and develop some of those skills."

The Sask Selects will be on the field on Saturday and Sunday at Yara Centre. Head to selectsfootball.com for more details on the program.
