The Saskatchewan Rush didn't show any ill effects to playing two games in the span of 24 hours on Saturday.

Saskatchewan outscored the Philadelphia Wings 7-0 in the fourth quarter to come back for a 16-11 victory at SaskTel Centre.

"Towards the end of the third quarter I thought maybe we were out of gas, but that's a championship pedigree team right there," said Rush head coach Derek Keenan. "We completely dominated the fourth quarter in all aspects."

The win was the fourth straight for the Rush and moved them one game up on the San Diego Seals for the top spot in the National Lacrosse League's Western Division.

The Rush won in San Diego on Friday night, flew back to Saskatoon on Saturday morning and were back on the field against the Wings that night.

"At that point, you're just running on fumes and adrenaline but that seemed to take us pretty far," said Rush forward Ben McIntosh after Saturday's win.

McIntosh finished with 11 goals in the two games over the weekend, including five goals in Saturday's win.

He said it was just one of those weekends, "I don't know, it just seemed like the ball had eyes for me this weekend, I'm not going to question it," said McIntosh.

Mark Matthews powered the Rush on Saturday with five goals and eight points, giving him seven goals and 14 points between the two games.

Matthews said the Rush battled right until the end, "The third quarter was rough for us but we just stuck with our game plan," he said. "We've been saying it for years, rock-chisel-hammer and we kept on at it, got a lot of good looks inside, canned a few that were key and pulled away."

Saskatchewan held an 8-7 lead at halftime, but the Wings came out hot in the third quarter, scoring three times to take a 10-9 lead.

The Rush didn't go away, however, picking up three goals from Matthews, two from McIntosh and one each from Matthew Dinsdale and Kyle Rubisch to turn a tight game into a lopsided affair.

Adam Shute made 42 saves in goal for the Rush as they improved to 10-6 this season.

Saskatchewan will travel to Calgary for a big meeting with the Roughnecks on Saturday.
